Self-Care for a Healthy Self

In this workshop, we will explore the theme of self-care – what it is, why it’s important, and how it relates to addictive behaviors. Focusing on mind, body, and spirit, we will incorporate self care techniques for the whole self. You will leave knowing what self-care practices you already implement, and some new ideas to try on your own.

WORKSHOP: How to Cope with Pregnancy/Parenthood in a Challenging Economy

This class is for anyone who is coping with the stress and anxiety related to the current economic downturn, with a particular focus on how one’s pregnancy, feelings, and parenting are impacted. Focus will be on self-care techniques; managing interpersonal stress with partners, friends, and/or children; beliefs about prosperity; and the challenge of living with less. Participant will not only walk away with a better understanding of themselves, but also with practical tools to help them through this hard time. Laura Gardner, MA and Stacy Stoddard, MA are Marriage and Family Therapy interns, under the supervision of Marsha Hiller, with practices in North Berkeley. They are both passionate about the subject matter, complement each other’s knowledge, and work in a relational, warm, and direct way. To register, please contact BirthWays.
